Sharing volunteers and training
|
Are you, like many others, struggling after the pandemic to recruit and train new volunteers? Would you like an opportunity to work in collaboration with other local organisations, to make use of their resources and training, and to give your volunteers additional volunteering opportunities?
If so, please get in touch with our Volunteering Advisor, Tracy on [email protected]
|
Would you be interested in First Aid Training?
|
We would like to know if any of our members would be interested in booking onto a First Aid training course if we were to offer one. There would be a cost to attend, but we would keep this as low as we can.
If this is something that your organisation would be interested in, please email Chris and let her know. If we have enough interest to make it viable then we will do our best to source a trainer and arrange it.

We have been receiving enquiries about how people/organisations can support the people of Ukraine. We only want to signpost people to organisations that we know can make a difference; who have the infrastructure, experience, know-how and connections on the ground. The Disaster Emergency Committee is an overarching organisation that co-ordinates charities in this way and they have said:
"The DEC is deeply concerned by the escalating conflict in Ukraine which is leading to a growing humanitarian crisis. We are continuing to monitor the situation closely and assess it against our criteria for launching an appeal. You can find out more about when we launch an appeal here. Several DEC member charities have launched appeals to help people in Ukraine. You can find out more and donate by following the links below:
Therefore, if people are wanting to support people in Ukraine and it's refugees we suggest that you go to one of the DEC organisations above who can then buy appropriate provisions.

New FREE fundraising training for your organisation
|
If you are operating in West Sussex or Brighton & Hove, we’re very pleased to announce our training programme around fundraising for this year.
Working with fundraiser Lucy Stone of No Stone Uncovered, we’ve designed a series of sessions to improve your fundraising skills.
|
The sessions in the programme are:
- Prospecting and Research: How do you find the right funders for you? - May
- Case for Support Bootcamp - June
- Writing for Impact: How can you make your applications and letters to trusts and foundations stand out? - July
- Ask Lucy anything about Fundraising - August
- Untapped Fundraising Potential: How can you find new ways to raise funds? - September
- Managing your relationships with your donors and funders - October
|
These sessions are aimed at smaller organisations who might have limited capacity for fundraising. You might be the only person responsible for fundraising within your organisation or you might not have much fundraising experience.
